On October 21, Tavus introduced a multimodal AI screening solution designed to upgrade the traditional AI resume checker by evaluating candidates through real-time video analysis. Instead of relying solely on written text and keyword extraction, the system analyzes a candidate’s tone of voice, body language, and on-the-spot reasoning during dynamic, multi-turn conversational exchanges.

Moving Beyond Text-Based Screening
Traditional application parsing often strips away critical communication signals, such as hesitation, energy levels, and delivery style. By deploying interactive Personified Application Layers, the new platform enables live screening sessions where AI models predict conversational flow within milliseconds. This technology allows the virtual interviewer to react mid-sentence and adjust its follow-up questions based on the applicant’s immediate responses, avoiding the rigid silence timers common in older dialogue systems.
Multimodal Perception and Structured Scoring
To ensure fair evaluations, the architecture strictly separates its multimodal perception capabilities from the final scoring rubric. A perception module called Raven-1 detects nuances like a mismatch between confident phrasing and hesitant delivery to guide the conversation naturally. However, the system ensures compliance with accessibility guidelines by only scoring the applicant against specific job objectives, keeping tone and body language out of the final ranking data.
