Frontline Source Group Upgrades Chat Assistant to Voice-Based AI Recruiter

On October 15, Frontline Source Group announced the promotion of its decade-old website chat assistant into a voice-enabled AI recruiter capable of handling initial phone screens. Lexi Reed, originally launched in 2015 to answer basic candidate questions, now conducts full verbal interviews, calling applicants directly to gather standardized data for the firm’s human recruiting team.

Bridging the Gap Between Chat and Voice

The transition reflects a shift in how staffing agencies process applications. Instead of relying solely on written forms, Frontline utilizes the Lexi Reed AI recruiter to call candidates once they upload a resume to the firm’s system. During these calls, the AI covers recent work history, technical skills, salary expectations, and preferred start dates. Candidates can even return missed calls or follow up via a dedicated email address.

Standardized Notes for Human Decisions

While the AI handles the initial conversation, it operates strictly as an assistant to human staff. Lexi compiles the interview answers into a comprehensive written summary for human recruiters to review. The human team, led by Senior Vice President of Operations Shelly Hubble and CEO Bill Kasko, then evaluates the notes to determine cultural fit and decide which candidates are presented to the hiring client.

Expanding the Autonomous Team

Lexi is part of a broader autonomous push within the Dallas-based firm, which was founded in 2004 and backs its placements with a five-year warranty. She works alongside other specialized models, including a dental-specific AI and a backend executive sourcing platform. By delegating the initial screening calls, Frontline ensures every applicant receives a consistent interview while reserving complex judgment calls for its human experts.
